Music Ministry

Wheeler is blessed with a wonderful group of musicians who help make worship beautiful, namely our Chancel Choir! The music ministry primarily utilizes a more traditional style of music accompanied by piano, acoustic guitar, and occasionally the french horn. they also perform two wonderful Cantatas for us annually at Christmas and Easter.

Missions

Wheeler highly prioritizes outreach and service! We have an incredibly dedicated Missions Team who works year round to support different groups and individuals in our community. If you are interested in helping with these efforts or if you are in need of assistance, please reach out to our Church Office or let us know in the Connect Card in your bulletin on Sunday.

Our fundraisers and ongoing projects include:

- Maintaining a Blessing Box stocked with non-perishables

- Hosting school Supply drives and hygiene product donations for local schools

- Implementing the Holston Conference’s Annual Hands-On-Mission Project

- Supporting local families through our Christmas Blessings Ministry

- And so much more!

Hospitality

Wheeler's wonderful hospitality team works to be the hands and feet of Christ in the community and in the Church by supporting ministries that feed the hungry in our area such as:

- Preparing Freezer Meals for our homebound neighbors

- Packing lunches for the women at the Day reporting Center

This group also supports events at Wheeler by contributing to covered dish luncheons and preparing meals for our summer camps, events, and fundraisers. The sounds of their laughter and conversations in the kitchen are such a wonderful part of Church life! AV Team

Wheeler’s AV team is a huge part of every successful worship service, and they help provide good stewardship of our technical resources. They are always seeking volunteers to assist with managing the sound system, screens, and online worship recordings on Sunday mornings. The team is also responsible for creating and publishing Wheeler's podcast, "Wheeler... Beyond Sunday."

Prayer Chain

Wheeler is blessed with a wonderful group of prayer warriors who bring our concerns and needs before the Lord daily. This group has volunteered to receive emails about the prayer requests that are submitted by members and friends of this community as they come in. If you are interested in supporting our Church through prayer, please reach out to our Ministry Assistant, Jade Williams to be added to the list.

Courtyard Gardeners

Our wonderful Courtyard and Prayer Garden is maintained by our Courtyard Gardeners group. This is the perfect way to get involved if you enjoy contemplative prayer, spending time outside, and gardening. If you are interested in supporting this group, please contact our Church Office or let us know in the Connect Card in your bulletin on Sunday.

Serve during Worship

We are always accepting volunteers who are interested in supporting our Sunday Worship services as Liturgists who lead us in our Call to Worship and Affirmation of Faith, Acolytes who light our altar candles, greeters and ushers who welcome everyone and pass out bulletins, offering collectors and counters, and Communion servers.
