Wheeler United Methodist Men are a service group who not only will come and help you out with something you can’t handle yourself, but also execute several large fundraisers a year. Those funds will help out many solid causes, including local needs for individuals and families as well as outreach days that Wheeler sponsors for the area. They meet the 4th Sunday of each month for breakfast and fellowship at 8 AM in the family activity center,. and they do eat well! Alvin Sells is the president, he or any other of the group will be happy to see you and answer any questions. You may have attended the Bluegrass Banquet in March, it is the groups largest fundraising event, and a ton of fun!
The United Women in Faith is a service arm of the UMC that has a brilliant history of activism and vision, particularly for education and self sustainability of women and children. The Wheeler Chapter is a major donor to initiatives such as Camp in the Community, coming up in June, and other outreach programs to the local area. The group meets one month during the day and the following month in the evening for regular meetings. At the time of this writing, they are executing the Spring Rummage Sale which is massive, and is a major fundraiser for their humanitarian aide budget. Louise Dickson is the president, and has able assistants who will welcome you!
